The new home of an old tradition
The story begins in way back in the 1980’s growing up South Of Gandy (SOG) where the love for BBQ started. Shawn would visit his grandparents when he was boy and would help his grandfather smoke ribs. His grandfather’s favorite were spareribs, and Shawn would help his grandfather putting BBQ sauce on the ribs. His love for the grill would increase over time but things really started in 2005. This is when he bought his first smoker and started a hobby that would grow into a business. He stated with pulled pork and made his own recipes and processes and from there a whole new world of BBQ would open up. Recently, this love for BBQ has rubbed off on his daughter Zoe where she helps SOG Hog BBQ cooking meats and desserts and specializes in ribs. SOG Hog BBQ opened for business in 2021 and started on the BBQ Competition circuit placing in various categories including a 2nd place finish in sauce earlier in 2022.

The love of BBQ is a love of quality. It’s about finding the best cuts of meats, the freshest ingredients, and blending them using age old techniques passed down through the generations to create the ultimate comfort food experience.
SOG Hog BBQ plans on bottling its rubs and sauces in 2023 so everyone can enjoy their products! Stay tuned!
